Hello There! :-D
Whew...WAAAAY too much time has passed! I hope you all are doing very well and enjoying the nice autumn weather we're having lately (I hope no one was affected by Hurricane Matthew).
There is a lot to catch up on my end, so I will try to split it up so that you don't have to read 1 loooong post.
Cording update:
I had weekly physical therapy sessions until last week and they popped several cords (1 therapist popped over 20 cords in 1 session), woohoo. During the sessions, they basically massaged the cords and twisted them. People have asked me if it hurts when they pop....there is a split second "pang" but it's immediately followed by a feeling of relief because the sting of the tightness is no longer there. You can actually hear the pop...sounds similar to when the joints in your fingers "crack." I'll take the temporary twisting and stretching over the daily cording pain. Over time, the cords spread from under my arm to the inside of my elbow and down to my wrist. There are still a few in my arm, but they no longer hurt/sting yaaaa!!! Whatever is there has been stretched to the point where I can stretch my arm out and function.....I have 99% full range of motion....I am so glad to be able to stretch/use my arm with no pain anymore!
I have a compression sleeve & glove to use as preventive for getting lymphedema or swelling in my left arm. I don't have to go for therapy anymore, if I don't think it's necessary. As nice as it was to lay down and have my arm massaged lol....it will be nice not to have to go to lose 3 hours a week and arrange friends to keep my kids every week :-)
1 of the things I think helped stretched the cording is having my arms stretched up everyday for radiation......
