Effective January, 2007 About MyLifeLine.org MyLifeLine.org is a nonprofit organization that provides free webpages to cancer patients and their caregivers with the purpose of communicating with friends and family during the cancer treatment process. Members can post photos, share updates on their health, receive caring messages from friends and family, ask for help with health-related tasks, learn about their unique cancer type, and more. MyLifeLine aims to ease the lives of everyone affected personally by cancer -- from diagnosis, through the healing process. MyLifeLine members can change their profile information at any time and can control how the service communicates with them. MyLifeLine.org cares about online privacy. Information Collection and Use by MyLifeLine.org MyLifeLine.org collects user submitted information such as name, email address, and age to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating to the MyLifeLine.org service. MyLifeLine.org also logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site.This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes. With the exception of inviting friends, adding friends, and notifications, a user's email address is not shared or displayed to people within a user's personal network. To facilitate searching and finding members, MyLifeLine.org allows users to search for members using first and last name. Member Communications to Non-members MyLifeLine members may store email addresses of people they know in their internal MyLifeLine address book. MyLifeLine.org does not sell these email addresses. Links MyLifeLine.org contains links to sites. MyLifeLine.org is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When linking to another site a user should read the privacy policy stated on that site. Our privacy policy only governs information collected on MyLifeLine.org. Correcting/Updating or Removing Information MyLifeLine.org users may modify or remove any of their personal information at any time by logging into their account and accessing features through MyProfile. Members may remove his or her personal MyLifeLine site anytime by checking the Disable my Site box on the MyProfile page. Security MyLifeLine.org member accounts are secured by passwords automatically and randomly selected by the system. Members may change passwords on the MyProfile page. MyLifeLine.org takes precautions to insure that member account information is kept private. We do our best to protect member information that is stored within our database. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of member account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of member information at any time.
