One week in

Well, it has nearly a week since my first chemo treatment. It was a little surprising it took about 5 hours total. To see the doctor and sit through the chemo treatments. The only side affect was it left me very tired. Couples that with lack of sleep from before. So for the first few days when I wasn't working I was sleeping. As Elizabeth added below, I was sent home with a pump for 2 days following the chemo. I had that taken out on Saturday. Right now I'm feeling pretty good, the chemo nurse said it could be weeks before the affects are felt. Or it could be sooner, or not at all. That last one gets my vote. The next treatment is scheduled for Wednesday the 13th. That will be followed by 2 more days with a pump. After 6 treatments they will do a cat scan to see what affects the chemo is having. So that is the nuts and bolts.

On the spiritual side of things God has been faithful. We are still working out how to live more with purpose. It is a journey for us just like everybody else. It is remembering to act on ideas, to make sure I contact people when I think about them. To make sure we are spending time with the Lord reading His Word and praying. These things are nothing new or profound, just trying to live in a way worthy of the gospel, with a reminder of my mortality in view. So if you are praying for us, please pray for wisdom in how to live in light of the gospel on a daily basis. Thanks I will try to not be so long next time. God Bless.
