Bill entry #4
Friday, April 24 - was a very relaxing day after a few days of having the body worked over with medications, high blood pressure, hiccups etc. etc.
Last night after taking a Steroid - dexamethasone which keeps you awake, I was allowed to take a Benadryl and had a good nights sleep. This was exactly what I needed and I could I feel it today.
It was great to have a good night sleep. I got up early this morning and Jayna joined me for a look a couple of hospital walks .....In fact a total of five walks today. Rob dropped by and brought me chocolate marshmallow milkshake from United Dairy Farmers. I could only manage about a quarter of it. My appetite is minimal. Jayna grabbed us lunch down on the 14th floor of the James Cancer Hospital and I had a half of a flatbread lunch pizza. It was a day that the body was trying to catch up from what it brad been through the previous four days.
Dr. Benson stopped in and informed us that things are on-par for where I should be with regards to my recovery.
He informed me that the next three or four days I will feel fine but then the middle of next week when my white blood cell count and my platelets will be decreased, this is a time when I begin to tire and begin the so-called process of getting well.
It is approximately 8:15 pm right now I am watching the NHL playoffs. I'm good for about two periods and then I have to watch the highlights in the morning. It certainly could be worse.
Thank all of you for your notes, prayers, thoughts and continued communication while I continue on the path toward the life of good health.
Good night and God bless!! -Bill
