My Story

Last updated: Jan 26 2016

WELCOME FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND VISITORS. I AM JASON, AND AS OF January 25th, 2016 THINGS ARE GOING QUITE WELL. I WAS DIAGNOSED JULY 23, 2014 WITH LIME SIZED MASS IN RIGHT LUNG. FURTHER TESTS CONCLUDED I WAS PLACED IN STAGE IIIa NON SMALL CELL LUNG CANCER, WITH SURGERY NOT AN OPTION DUE TO THE MASS ENTANGLING MY PULMONARY ARTERY. I HAD TURNED 41 A FEW MONTHS EARLIER. THE AVERAGE AGE OF BEING DIAGNOSED WITH LUNG CANCER IS 70.

FIRST SYMPTOMS : COUGHING UP BLOOD........ON AND OFF FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS.

DIAGNOSED : JULY 23, 2014

THE PLAN : BEING FAIRLY YOUNG, THE PLAN WAS TO GO THROUGH 35 RADIATION TREATMENTS ALONG WITH 8 WEEKS OF CHEMOTHERAPY, ONCE A WEEK. CHEMO WITH RADIATION AT THE SAME TIME CAN EASILY BREAK A PERSON DOWN, BUT BEING IN OTHERWISE GREAT SHAPE, THAT WAS THE CHOICE.

TREATMENT START DATE : SEPT. 2, 2014

TREATMENT FINISH DATE : NOV. 7, 2014

FOLLOW UP PET SCAN : JAN. 28, 2015 - TUMOR GONE, NO EVIDENCE OF CANCER

AUGUST 20, 2015 PET SCAN - SHOWING RECURRENCE, GRAPE SIZED MASS, SAME AREA.

AUG. 31, 2015 THROUGH NOV. 23, 2015 MORE CHEMOTHERAPY. SEVEN BI-WEEKLY INFUSIONS OF OPDIVO (IMMUNO-THERAPY).

NOVEMBER 20, 2015 PET SCAN - PREVIOUS MASS FOUND IN AUGUST IS GONE. NEW MASS, SLIGHTLY HIGHER UP IS FOUND. DR. JIANG TO CONSULT WITH THORACIC SURGEON DR. QUINTON ON SURGERY CONSIDERATIONS.

DECEMBER 14, 2015 - APPOINTMENT WITH DR. JIANG AND PROBABLY EIGHTH OPDIVO INFUSION. RECEIVE ADVICE FROM DR. QUINTON VIA DR. JIANG.
