PET CT SKULL BASE TO MID THIGH

INDICATION: restaging lung cancer; C34.91; C34.91
CLINICAL HISTORY: 44 year old male with history of lung cancer and enlarging
right mediastinal adenopathy.
TECHNIQUE:
The patient was injected with 12.8 mCi 18-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose (FDG). Following
a standard uptake period, a noncontrast CT scan followed by a PET scan were
acquired. The noncontrast CT was used for anatomic localization and photon
attenuation correction of the PET scan.
Scan length: From the vertex to the mid thighs.
Blood glucose level: 100 mg/dl
Total uptake time: 64 minutes
LIMITATION: None.
TIMES:
Radiopharmaceutical administration time: 1:10 PM
Scan time: 2:14 PM
COMPARISON: CT examinations performed in 4/17 as well as PET/CT dated 7/16
FINDINGS:
HEAD AND NECK:
There is mild physiologic activity in the airway and salivary glands. No
suspicious focal lesions are seen.
CHEST:
There is significantly increased activity in the right paratracheal adenopathy,
with maximum SUV of 11.9.
Increased activity is also seen in right and left prevascular superior
mediastinal nodes, measuring up to 1.65 cm on the left, with maximum SUV of 5.8.
No other areas of abnormal activity are seen. Stable right perihilar
consolidation on the CT images.
ABDOMEN AND PELVIS:
Physiologic activity is seen in the liver, spleen, bowel, kidneys, ureters and
bladder.
No suspicious focal lesions are seen.
Musculoskeletal system:
No suspicious focal lesions are seen.
